A plane carrying Pete Hegseth was required to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the plane's windshield, as stated by an official statement which verified that Hegseth was safe.

"The plane landed following established safety measures and everyone onboard, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson stated in a social media post.

Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to Brussels when the incident occurred.

This occurrence is not the first time that a US military aircraft ferrying a senior official has encountered mechanical issues.

Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft ferrying Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to turn back to Washington after experiencing a technical issue.
