A female indicted with harassing Kate McCann allegedly left her a voicemail message which questioned: "suppose I am Madeleine?"

Julia Wandelt, 24, who court testimony revealed has consistently declared she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are standing trial charged with harassing Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February the current year.

On Monday, Leicester Crown Court learned call records and data retrieved from phones recorded Ms Wandelt consistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a biological test over 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - at the age of three during a vacation in Portugal - is one of the most widely reported missing child cases and remains unresolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

One voicemail, presented in court, captured Ms Wandelt declaring: "I understand I'm fat and plain like Madeleine used to be, but I know what I believe."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's voicemail expressed: "Imagine there is a slight possibility that I am she? Then what? Wouldn't that be crucial for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I have a living here in Poland, I just want to understand," the recording stated.

The panel was told that via electronic messages, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt requested a DNA test, sent early photographs to her phone in a bid to demonstrate a likeness to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and stated to have "flashbacks" from a youth with the McCanns.

The investigator, a data specialist with Leicestershire Police who gathered the evidence, told the court there "showed no any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally contacted acquaintances of the McCanns, according to the communication logs.

On that date, Gerry McCann responded to a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "a wrong number."

During that incident Ms Wandelt left a recording on Mrs McCann's recording stating "I won't give up and I will prove my point."

The court was informed the co-defendant established a connection via internet with Ms Wandelt prior to assisting her on a visit to the McCanns' residence in the county in December 2024.

Communication data showed Mrs Spragg had reached out via WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to state the media had characterized Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she ought to be treated respectfully in the months preceding the appearance to that location, Leicestershire, in that winter.

The court was told correspondence between the two individuals, in November 2024, considering endeavoring to get Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her garbage or from silverware at a eating establishment.

"We need to take action," the co-defendant told Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the trip to their home, Mrs Spragg transmitted a message which expressed: "We're currently sat adjacent to the McCanns' house with our headlights off similar to investigators. I desired to do this with another person I never thought I would be involved in this with the McCanns."
