Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.
Prolific children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.
A spokesman for the firm stated: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the move was reached following an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving young women.
The firm did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."
An Illustrious Literary Career
Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in 55 languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.
A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.
He has published in excess of 40 works in total, encompassing a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
