'Enduring a Horrific Ordeal': Families of Missing Young People Desperately Seek Information After Alpine Fire

The loved ones of teenagers missing after a tragic inferno at a bar in a Switzerland's winter destination are enduring an painful wait for answers and appealing for information about their loved ones online.

The fire ripped through the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of January 1st. Confirmed video reveal the ceiling catching alight as beverages with fireworks are held aloft.

Emergency services have indicated that it could take days if not weeks to identify the victims of the fire, which claimed the lives of four dozen individuals and hurt another 119. A spokesperson said on Friday that 113 of the injured have been identified, with the process continuing to identify the other six.

In the interim, relatives have been using the internet to request information about their missing relatives who were at the bar that fateful night.

Desperate Searches for the Unaccounted For

The whereabouts of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, a teenager, are still unconfirmed, according to an appeal from his parent.

The resident of a town near the city, informed a publication that she had gone back to Lausanne to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his father did the equivalent search in the capital, but was unsuccessful.

"I'm living a nightmare, a horror. Either I find my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in critical condition. Words cannot describe it," she told the paper.

She continued that some of his friends had been found with burns covering a significant portion of their bodies. "It's indescribable; they experienced hell."

The Italy's foreign ministry has indicated that a number of of its young people have not been located.

Junior golfer Emanuele Galeppini, 16, was last in contact around midnight on New Year's Eve, his father said.

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is likewise among the missing. His parent told reporters that he had been on vacation but had gone out with friends and found himself at the venue.

"Someone with him told me they escaped after the fire started and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a specific moment he couldn't see him anymore," she recounted, adding he had been wearing a distinctive piece of jewelry.

One of his educators stated, "I remember his good nature and positive demeanor, combined with great responsibility. Every time offer to help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Swiss and Greek citizenship but lives permanently in the country, was also at the bar on New Year's Eve, according to reports.
