Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.
Nine people were injured while local people in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to drinking water, as stated by local authorities.
Simultaneously, a young boy was lost their life in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, according to regional authorities.
Russian forces has escalated strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.
"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a social media post.
Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen rockets struck energy facilities, labeling such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.
Energy officials said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were working to repair systems.
A barrage of missiles hit power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.
Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by city authorities.
Area administrators said the city endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy died and three other people were injured.
The strikes follow periods of aerial attacks in the region, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.
All of Ukraine is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to spot.
Authorities told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the country's energy grid, with assaults already affecting energy systems.
He said utility staff and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
